The Strategy of Improving the System of Quality Infrastructure in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2015-2020 was adopted at the Government session on 30th October 2015 and published in the "Official Gazette of RS" No. 93/2015 on 13th November 2015

Strategy of Improving the System of Quality Infrastructure in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2015-2020 defines the steps for a dynamic and comprehensive development of metrology, standardization, accreditation and conformity assessment, as main elements of quality infrastructure. In this regard, the Strategy sets out development priorities for the next period, in accordance with the needs of industry and current trends in the development of quality infrastructures in EU.

The Strategy sets the strategic directions of development of the system of quality infrastructure in the Republic of Serbia, based on analyzes of the current situation in this area and plans of development of industrial sector, primarily in the areas of industrial non-food products.

By completing the improved quality infrastructure system, the Republic of Serbia will be several steps closer to EU in the Euro-integration process, which will have a positive impact on:

  • Serbian businesses who will produce, import and export products without technical barriers;
  • Consumers, to whom high-quality and safe products will be available;
  • Government authorities that will conduct market surveillance over the implementation of technical regulations, on simpler and more efficient way.

By achieving these objectives Serbia will be in a position to become an active participant in the European and World market.

The preparation of the Strategy was implemented with the technical support of German development aid, through the GIZ ACCESS - Program of private sector development in Serbia, and in cooperation with all stakeholders, including quality infrastructure institutions (ISS, ATS, DMDM), conformity assessment bodies and representatives of businesses (PKS, associations and other sectorial associations) as users of testing and certification services.
