Public debate on the Draft Law on Technical Requirements for Products and Conformity Assessment

The Ministry of Economy, in the process of drafting the law regulating technical requirements for product safety and conformity assessment, conducts a public debate on the Draft Law on Technical Requirements for Products and Conformity Assessment.

The draft law was prepare by a working group formed by the Minister of Economy, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, the Accreditation Body of Serbia, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the European Integration Office, the Ministry of Health, as well as the representative of the project "Quality infrastructure in the Western Balkans".

The Ministry of Economy through the text of the Draft Law proposes improvement of technical legislation, improvement of conditions for businesses and development of the Serbian economy, alignment with the best EU practice, as well as reduction of unfair competition and removal of unjustified barriers to trade.

An integral part of this public invitation is the Public Debate Program with the text of the Draft Law on Technical Requirements for Products and Conformity Assessment.

Public debate on the Draft Law is being implemented in the period from September 1st to September 21 st, 2017.

The public debate on the Draft Law in the form of a round table will be organized by the Ministry of Economy, as follows:

- on 15th September 2017, from 10 am to 12 pm, in the premises of the Town Hall in Zrenjanin, Baroque Hall, Trg slobode 10, Zrenjanin;

- on 20th September 2017, from 10 am to 12 pm, at the premises of the Niš Regional Chamber of Commerce Dobrička 2;

- on September 21st, 2017, from 10 am to 12 pm, at the premises of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Resavska 13-15, Belgrade.

The Ministry of Economy invites all interested and professional public to get acquainted with the working text of the Draft Law on Technical Requirements for Products and Conformity Assessment and submit their proposals on the form that is attached to this public invitation, by electronic means to the following address: nikola.mirkovic@privreda.gov.rs and aleksandar.dragicevic@privreda.gov.rs, as well as by mail to the Ministry of Economy, Kneza Milosa 20, 11000 Belgrade, with the title "Public Discussion on the Draft Law on Technical Requirements for Products and Conformity Assessment".
